7 Keys for Looking & Feeling Your Best


In this post I will be coming to you with tips on how to have a naturally beautiful body. You know the motto, If we look good we feel good, we do good!

I’m going to break this down by giving you only 7 keys. Yes, only 7. Why? Because we do not need a lot of steps to look our best and let’s face it, we have enough to do in our lives, so making something as easy as looking good into something difficult is not appealing, hello!

Here are the 7 keys that we are going to dig into in this post so we can take the proper steps to look good, feel good and do GREAT!

1.      Set goals

2.      Develop a plan

3.      Exercise according to plan

4.      Establish a good nutrition regimen (including vitamins)

5.      Stay hydrated

6.      Moisturize

7.      Get proper rest


1.      Set goals

Setting proper goals is the foundation of accomplishing what you want. Whether it is transitioning into a natural lifestyle, starting a business, increasing your wealth or health, goal setting keeps you on track and gives you clarity in what you want and how to strive for it.

Of course we are always told to set goals, but do we really know how to set goals effectively. Yes, how you set goals can make or break your progress in what you want to accomplish.

The only wrong way to set goals is to set goals in ways that are not familiar or appeasing to you. What may work for another may not work for you. You must know what motivates you and keep you going as well as what will stop you in your tracks. This is what will guide you in forming and accomplishing your goals.

You will also want to include deadlines in your goals. Setting a time to accomplish something helps you to put your butt in gear and keep going when you don’t feel like it. We hate letting people down, especially ourselves, so as an added bonus share your goals and deadlines with people you trust as well as post them in obvious places where you can see them.

2.      Develop a Plan

Now that you have your goals set you must develop your plan of action. No, goal setting is not your plan. I’ve learned that from a very wise man that I can call my husband. I used to think that setting the goals was all that I needed and the plan would fall in place, but if you fail to plan you plan to fail.

Take your goals and brainstorm ideas to help you accomplish those goals. Look at your ideas and sort through them to create steps to achieve those goals. Keep track of what you are doing, what works and what doesn’t and celebrate your accomplishments. Remember that your plans will change as you go on because as you go through challenges, you will adjust some steps in your plan to create triumphs.

3.      Exercise according to plan

In your plan I’m sure you included exercise. You must exercise in order to build the naturally beautiful body you want. You must choose a workout or variety of workouts that will get results. You must also choose ones that are fun for you. You must enjoy what you are doing. If you do not, you will be hard pressed to stick to it and accomplish your goal.

4.      Establish a good nutrition regimen

We can workout all we want but if we are not eating properly, all of that work is going to go straight out the window. Tim Ferriss, in his book, The Four Hour Body talks about his father’s weight loss and how when to eat, what to eat and how to eat played an important role in how he lost weight without adding exercise to his schedule.

Health professionals agree that excess carbs and sugars play a huge role in weight gain as well as the retardation of fat loss. So, having the proper nutrition regimen is a huge factor in gaining that naturally beautiful body and keeping it that way. Now I am not saying that you should not have your cake and eat it too, I’m just saying to adopt and 80/20 lifestyle when it comes to your eating habits. When you are eating great 80% of the time, you can indulge 20% of the time and still achieve the goals you want for your naturally beautiful body.

5.      Stay hydrated

Being dried up and saggy is not the way you vision your naturally beautiful body, right? I didn’t think so. As you may know our bodies are composed mainly of water and works at its best when we are properly hydrated. Our organs function as they should, our skin looks better because our cells are filled and allows our skin to be supple, soft and smooth. We are told to drink 8 -8oz glasses of water daily, however my rule of thumb is take the number of pounds that you weigh and drink that amount in ounces of water. Water not only keeps you hydrated but it helps your body detoxify as well. So drink up for beautiful supple skin and a healthier body.

6.      Moisturize

What better way to follow up with hydration but to add moisturizing to the mix. Staying hydrated keeps your skin supple by doing its work from the inside, but moisturizing gives your skin that boost and protection that it needs from the outside. During cooler seasons you must use a thicker cream or balm than you would naturally use during the warmer seasons. Regardless of the seasons, make sure you are using and SPF protectant on exposed skin.

7.      Get proper rest

Getting the proper rest helps you have the energy to do the things you must in order to have the naturally beautiful body that you are destined to have. We have been told to get about 8 hours of sleep, however, we have not been fully informed. Getting the recommended 8 hours of sleep does not guarantee you to have the proper amount or even type of rest for that matter. Rapid Eye Movement or REM sleep is our most restful period of sleep. We only need this type of rest in order to function well throughout the day. When we are awakened in the middle of this phase we feel groggy and are usually in a very unproductive state. It is best that you get uninterrupted sleep, especially during that REM cycle which can occur within the 1st hour of sleep.

See? Not so bad, is it? Add these tips into your life and you will look good, feel good and do good every day of your life!
